SmartGO is building a new kind of mobility ecosystem—where your personal data becomes a form of currency to unlock free or deeply subsidized transportation. Think of it as Zero-Dollar Mobility – a bold, data-driven approach to cutting emissions, reducing car dependency, and accelerating progress toward a more sustainable, equitable transportation future. 

SmartGO seeks greater mobility freedom without the use of private automobiles. We also actively source products, programs and services that decrease driving and enable car-optional living.

Our initial program focuses on pay-per mile and non-owner auto insurance:

Pay-per-mile auto insurance converts what’s normally a fixed cost of driving to a variable one, saving money in two ways: Policyholders pay only for the actual miles they drive and it’s estimated that they will drive less (about 5-15%, per multiple studies). Driving less helps to reduce congestion, pollution, collisions and other societal ills related to car dependence.

Non-owner auto insurance protects people who don’t own a car but frequently rent or share them. It’s important in situations where one is struck by an uninsured, underinsured or hit-and run vehicle. Some non-owner policies extend such protection to policyholders when they are walking, cycling, riding a scooter or taking public transit.
